TITLE: Personnel Assistant
CLASSIFICATION: Administrative Specialist I
SALARY RANGE: $16,388.00 - $24,817.00
SUPERVISOR: Coordinator, Human Resources

DEFINITION:
This is responsible administrative work in human resources including the provision of administrative, clerical and typing support to the Administrative Offices.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Maintain positive public relations in all telephone and/or personal communications (including receptionist duties), receive incoming calls, channel them to proper persons, take messages when persons are unavailable, and exercise administrative judgment and initiative in resolving problem areas on own authority.

Provide typing services for administrative staff, draft correspondence as requested, proof read typing and utilize independent judgement for editing and correction of all such typing. Take and prepare minutes for assigned meetings.

Input personnel information in computer system, and ensure that information is correct and current. Maintain personnel files, to include regular and routine reviews.

Maintain personnel forms and other personnel supplies, order and stock adequate level of supplies and forms.

Receive, copy as needed, and distribute fax documents; file and perform other clerical duties.

Maintain resume files; assist in collection of data on recommended applicants.

Participate in new employee orientation as directed by supervisor.

Assist in assuring all staff are current in required training and assist in the management of in-service training for all staff.

Assign chart numbers and mail reports to DYS.

Perform back-up duties for Executive Secretary.

Perform other related duties as requested by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge and proficiency in personal computer systems and software applications.

Considerable knowledge of English, spelling, punctuation, office practices and procedures, and principles of office management.

Ability to deal with people including consumers, staff members, visitors and the general public in a pleasant and effective manner; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with other employees and the public.

Ability to type rapidly and accurately.

TITLE: Case Manager – Children – (SAFE School Montgomery County)
CLASSIFICATION: Mental Health Counselor I
SALARY RANGE: $19,920.00 - $30,165.00
SUPERVISOR: Coordinator SAFE School

DEFINITION:
This is responsible professional work as a direct services provider and an information and referral agent for targeted populations of children who are considered to be seriously emotionally disturbed.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Accept referrals of eligible individuals.

Complete referral information including name and a problem statement.

Determine needs of SED children by using the SUN Assessment.

Complete a SUN Assessment Form on each client utilizing information gained from the client or a significant other.

Determine resources that would meet the needs identified in the SUN Assessment by contacting provider sources, public and private, both in and out of the catchment area.

Prepare a plan for the provision of community mental health services to the targeted individual involved and review such plan not less that once every 3 months.

Provide assistance in obtaining and coordinating social and maintenance services for the individual, including services relating to daily living activities, transportation services, educational services, housing services, housing services and medical services.

Assist the individual for such other services as may be appropriate.

Transport clients to services, as well as conduct outreach visits.

Participate in training activities as required by the Authority to increase and enhance professional and therapeutic skills.

Complete reports required for client records as well as all forms and paperwork required by the Agency including Daily Service Reports and other forms as needed.

Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of the special needs and behavioral characteristics of seriously emotionally disturbed children.

Knowledge of interviewing techniques and principles.

Skills in interpersonal relationships and group dynamics.

TITLE: Coordinator, SAFE School (Montgomery County)

SUPERVISOR: Montgomery County Director

DEFINITION:
This is a responsible position in the area of clinical services, supervision and quality assurance activities in the Montgomery County Safe School program.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Perform the function of therapist to include evaluating, giving diagnostic impressions and treating individuals and families who show evidence of suffering from mental disorders, emotional stress, family maladjustments and behavior disorders.

Conduct reviews of clinical records.

Provide individual and group supervision as assigned.

Provide treatment plan/service plan reviews as assigned.

Approve treatment plans and revision of treatment plans/services plans as assigned.

Review and approve terminations and discharge plans.

Provide consultation services in the areas of program planning and development.

Perform tasks assigned related to Quality Assurance and quality improvement process.

Participate in training activities to increase therapeutic skills and to become more knowledgeable of methods and techniques used in the care of clients, especially children.

Coordinate and supervise activities of staff in the Montgomery County Safe School program.

REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to assume responsibility for professional and administrative functions of Children=s Outpatient Program.

Basic knowledge of psychotropic drugs, their use, misuse, desirable, and undesirable effects.

Extensive knowledge of psycho pathology, mental and emotional illness, principles of counseling and extensive knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, its use and clinical application.

Ability to utilize various treatment modalities, including individual, family, group therapies, play therapy, and treatment of child sexual abuse.

Knowledge and ability in the use of research techniques for the purpose of program/client/ record evaluation.

Ability and willingness to provide services and perform duties in non-traditional settings.

Ability to administer and develop budgets.

Ability to train, supervise, and motivate staff.

Ability to work cooperatively with consumers and staff.

Ability to use good communication skills, both written and verbal.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field, plus four years of progressive clinical experience. DEFINITION:
This is responsible professional work in the field of mental health. Employees in this class are responsible for counseling children in the Montgomery County public school system who are mentally ill, emotionally disturbed, or presenting behavioral problems.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Perform the function of therapist to include evaluating, diagnosing and treating children and families who show evidence of suffering from a mental disorder, emotional stress, marital and family maladjustment or behavioral disorders.

Participate in training activities to increase therapeutic skills and to become more knowledgeable in methods and techniques used in the care of psychiatric clients.

Work evening clinic when required.

Complete reports required for client records as well as all forms or paperwork required by the Agency.

Perform related duties as required by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

TITLE: MH Therapist – Juvenile Court
CLASSIFICATION: Mental Health Therapist
SALARY RANGE: $24,213.00 - $38,499.00
SUPERVISOR: Montgomery County Director

DEFINITION:
This is responsible professional work serving as a liaison to the Juvenile Courts, providing case management services and counseling for children who are determined to have a mental illness, mental retardation, and/or substance abuse problem.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Serve as the day-to-day contact and liaison to the Juvenile Court.

Perform court screening, prehospital screening, assessments, treatment and/or mental health consultation for children who have come to the attention of the Juvenile Court.

Provide crisis intervention and referral to services needed for children coming to the attention of Juvenile Court.

Assist children and families in obtaining needed services.

Serve as contact for State and local hospitals for children committed to hospitals or child being considered for commitment.

Identify eligible individuals, receive referral information, and open clinical and case management case.

Complete a SUN (Service Utilization and Needs) Assessment Form on each client utilizing information gained from the client and other sources.

Determine resources that would meet the needs identified in the SUN Assessment by contacting provider sources, public and private, both in and out of the catchment area.

Prepare a plan for the provision of community mental health services to the targeted individual involved and review plan periodically as required by applicable standards.

Provide assistance in obtaining and coordinating social and maintenance services for the individual, including services relating to daily living activities, transportation services, habilitation and rehabilitation services, prevocational and vocational services, and housing services.

Assist the individual in obtaining income support services, including housing assistance, food stamps, and supplemental security income benefits.

Provide representative payee services in accordance with section 1631 (a)(2) of the Social Security Act if the individual is receiving aid under title XVI of such Act.

Develop individualized treatment plan in conjunction with client, family as appropriate, and other clinical and case management staff.

Transport clients to services, as well as conduct outreach visits.

Participate in training activities as required by the Authority.

Complete reports required for client records and the Court as well as forms and paperwork required by the Authority, including Daily Service Reports and other forms.

Provide consultation and education services to groups, individuals and agencies as needed.

Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:
Considerable knowledge of individual and group behavior with special emphasis on problems of children with mental illness, substance abuse, or mental retardation.

Knowledge of principles and methods of counseling and casework.

Knowledge of mental illnesses, substance abuse disorders, mental retardation and the social and individual implications.

Basic knowledge of psychotropic medications, including use, misuse, main effects, and side effects.

Knowledge of community resources available designed to help meet the needs of persons with mental illness and substance abuse disorders.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle, with a valid Alabama Driver's License and a good driving record.

Ability and willingness to provide services and perform duties in non-traditional settings and to work hours outside the 8:00 - 5:00 workday if necessary (including on-call services).

DEFINITION:
This is responsible professional work providing services on an outreach basis to a limited target population as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing treatment, rehabilitation and support to persons with serious mental illness and severe functional disability.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Perform the function of therapist by providing mental health services individually to each client in the team's caseload.

Provide assertive community treatment services to clients assigned to team.

Participate in staffing of all assigned cases at least twice weekly with other treatment team members.

Participate in clinical supervision as required.

Participate in training activities as required by the Authority to increase and enhance professional and therapeutic skills.

Complete reports required for client records as well as all forms and paperwork required by the Agency, including Daily Service Reports and other forms as needed.

DEFINITION:
This is responsible professional work as a direct services provider and an information and referral agent for targeted populations that are considered to be seriously mentally ill.

 DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Implement and supervise a daily schedule for meals and housekeeping activities.

Monitor and document client's medication regimens.

Monitor and comply with established procedures for accidents, fires or other emergencies.

As required and authorized, purchase food and other supplies as needed for daily operation of the residence.

Prepare reports identifying the need for repairs of equipment, furniture and program site.

Ensure compliance with house rules.

Monitor residents in matters of grooming, money management, behavior, discipline and social activities.

DEFINITION:
This is responsible professional work in the field of nursing in the community mental health center setting. Services will be provided to targeted children and adolescents who are identified by the Department of Human Resources and/or Montgomery Area Mental Health Authority.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Assist the psychiatrist and physician in monitoring clients receiving chemotherapy through the Mental Health Authority.

Assist in evaluating the client's general medical status.

Assist doctors in performing routine medication checks.

Administer intramuscular medications as ordered by the doctor.

Responsible for contacting the doctor when any significant change in client medication is indicated.
